FAQ section

Does PushPals really train the back?

Training your back with pushups sounds absurd, but with PushPals it's a real possibility.

Traditional pushups primarily target the chest, shoulders, and triceps, but they do engage the back muscles for stabilization. Our Pushup Board, however, goes beyond traditional pushups by offering various handle positions that can more effectively engage different muscle groups, including the back.

Here's how it works:

Varied Hand Positions: By adjusting the grip to yellow positions like reverse or backward grips, you can engage the upper back, rear deltoids, and lats more effectively than traditional pushups. These grips alter the mechanics of the pushup, bringing in more muscle groups into play.

Stabilization: Even in standard pushups, your back muscles, especially the muscles along the spine (erector spinae) and the traps, are engaged to stabilize your body. The Pushup Board enhances this by challenging your muscles in different ways with each grip position.

Enhanced Engagement: Using the handles can reduce wrist strain and allow for deeper pushups, which can engage the back muscles more as you control the movement.

While pushups are not primarily a back exercise, the unique design of our Pushup Board allows for variations that do involve and benefit the back muscles.
